“Everybody Wants to Go to Heaven. Nobody Wants to Die.”
Death, a subject that never fails to make people stop and think about life. I once heard someone says that death is a period, like a period in a sentence, but with the knowledge the Restored Gospel gave we could not agree to that.
Because of the Restored Gospel we came to know that death is more of a coma than of a period. Death is included in the perfect plan of our Father in Heaven which is called The Plan of Salvation. It is necessary for a man to progress towards perfection. For a man to go to heaven he must first give up his imperfect body and wait for the glorious resurrection, which is a gift from the Savior.
It is the Savior Jesus Christ who we should give thanks to.
- Because of His teachings, we may know how to live in this mortal life,
- Because of His resurrection we too can live again, NOT ALONE, but with our loved ones.
“For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.” 1 Cor. 15:22
Praise be to our Father in Heaven for giving us His Son, for giving us a kind of life to follow, for sending us His prophets, missionaries, for giving us our families.
We will surely miss our deceased loved ones, feelings of sadness may overwhelmed us and remembering them for sure will bring us to tears every now and then. But at the end of the day, the love of Heavenly Father and the Savior Jesus Christ will bring us comfort and the assurance that we will someday be with them again.
