Don’t Be Frustrated - A Note for Leaders

Leaders Lead

Have you ever felt so frustrated because someone you are trying to help does not seem to grasp what you are trying to teach him. Or have you ever had an experience when the person you really love is hurting himself because of the foolishness he has been doing with his life and IF ONLY he would listen to what you are trying to say you know that he will drastically elevate his life more than he can imagine. You do exert efforts and massive actions mainly out of love and concern and it is normal to feel sorry and frustrated. I used to feel this way too until I learned a very profound principle from a friend of mine about other people’s freedom to choose.

Reasons why true leaders don’t get frustrated whenever others choose to disregard their wise counsels or ignore their efforts.

  • He understands that his role is to inspire and not push people
  • He understands that his role is to remind and not to nag

At the end of the day it will be them who will make the actions required. Their actions will lie on their understanding and freedom to choose.

When I finally understood what my friend meant I never got discouraged or feel frustrated any more. Yes I feel sorry and sad whenever things like this happen, I am human and I feel pain, but life goes on. I’ve got to do what I’ve got to do and that is to move on and look for new people to inspire, motivate and remind. Keeping the faith that there will be people that will grasp or understand what I understand and see what I see.
