Must-Haves for Virtual Assistants

You and I are running our Virtual Assistant (VA) businesses differently, (largely because we all have our own niche). Although this is the case, there are a few things that really don’t depend on your niche and below are some of them;

1. Office Space: This space must be used ONLY for your home office. It is very difficult to accomplish tasks when you share this space with ANYONE.
2. Resources: A successful VA doesn’t have to know everything about everything. What they must do, though, is know where to FIND the answers to almost anything.
3. Professionalism: Anyone that hires you expects complete professionalism from you. Just because you work from your home (possibly in your pajama) doesn’t mean that professionalism shouldn’t be adhered to.
4. Honesty: This is YOUR business. The only person you are hurting is yourself if you are not trustworthy. It will become apparent to your clients in a hurry if you do things in a “shady” way!
5. Responsible: To error is human. You have heard that before, I’m sure! There will be times, no matter how perfect you try to be, that you will make mistakes. The important thing is that you admit them and learn from them.
